Job Description
A solid and proven sales background is a must, as an Accounts Manager needs to manage and strive to pro actively grow set key client accounts, meeting their business needs with the products your company manufactures or sells. It is a sales based job, but without the active sourcing of new leads. Managing, maintaining and building existing relationships is key here. If new leads do manifest, the Accounts Manager is expected to manage the sales process from doing the initial presentation through to closing the deal.
The customer’s credit performance and outstanding payments needs to be monitored and managed on an ongoing basis. Computer literacy is a prerequisite, as the Accounts Manager must be able to handle and maintain a full set of accounts, using spreadsheets and word processing office software, as well as proprietary accounting software. This also entails preparing weekly / monthly management account reports as well as other financial reports.
The Accounts Manager will be expected to work unsupervised, and has to report directly to the Financial Manager or other relevant management executive.
